Bessie Lee
SMITH LAKE — Services are pending for Bessie Clark Lee, 79, will be 11 a.m., April 2, at Thoreau Church of God. Dr. Ray Barker will officiate.
Lee died March 24, 2011, in Gallup. She was born Sept. 15, 1931, in Smith Lake, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Salt People Clan.
Lee was a homemaker and rancher.
Survivors include her daughters, Marlene Martinez of Smith Lake, Leona Lee of Albuquerque; brother, Frank James of Smith Lake; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Lee was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee; Hudson Gibson, Lavonne Lee, Leora Lee; brother, George Clark.
Pallbearers will be Travis Notah, Sherwin Gibson, Fred Westmoreland, Clarence Martinez Jr., Derwin Chavez, Andy Booher.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Smith Lake Veterans Hall, following services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Junior Smith
NAZLINI — Funeral services for Junior Smith, 34, were 10 a.m., today, April 1, at Nazlini Church of the Nazarene. Justin Johnson officiated. Burial was in Klagetoh Community Cemetery.
Smith died March 29, 2011, in Ganado. He was born July 7, 1976, in Fort Defiance, into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the One Who Walks Around People Clan.
Smith graduated from Rough Rock High School and North American Technical College as a certified carpenter. He worked at several construction sites, Arrow Industries and Navajo Nation Parks and Rec. He was a member of the NAC Church. His hobbies included country/western dance, rodeos, horse back riding and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Thomacita Dale; daughters, Brianna Begay of Gallup, Brianna Navajo of Wide Ruins, Yanabah Smith of Monument Valley, Shandiin Smith of Nazlini; mother, Cynthia Smith; brother, Norman Smith; sister, Cora.
Smith was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Smith; two sisters.
Pallbearers were Alec Kee, Cavin Smith, Francis Tsosie, Ricardo Smith, Fernando Smith, Danny Colello.
The family received relatives and friends at Klagetoh Chapter House, following services.
Silver Creek Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Julian Smith
BURNSIDE — Services for Julian Julius Smith, 30, will be 10 a.m., April 2, at Catholic Church, Ganado. Burial will be in Ganado Cemetery. Visitation will be at St. Halls Catholic Church.
Smith died March 27, 2011, in Ganado. He was born Aug. 20, 1979, in Fort Defiance, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Charcoal Streaked Division of the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.
Smith graduated from Ganado High School in 1999.
Survivors include his parents, Julius Smith, Lucille Mudman; brothers, Rydell Mudman Smith, Loren Smith, Harlan Smith; sister, Judith Shirley; grandfather, Thomas Smith.
Smith was preceded in death by Maggie Mudman, Ruth Smith.
Pallbearers will be Elijah James, Johnathan Tsosie, Nielson Nez, Marcus Buck, Daniel Noble, Thomas Noble.
